It’s important that audiovisual media be accessible to everyone, and not just a share of the population. According to government statistics, there are over six million people in Brazil who are blind or visually impaired, and over ten million deaf or hard-of-hearing. All of these people can benefit from access services, and LBM is up to the task. We can make your film fully accessible according to Ancine standards.
Audio description is an accessibility solution intended for people with visual disabilities. First we create a script with the spoken descriptions of actions, facial expressions, sets and locations – that is, everything that’s crucial to fully enjoy TV shows, movies, and so on. After that, it’s time to head to the studio and record that script as an audio track edited into the gaps between lines of spoken dialogue. After the track is approved by a consultant from the target audience, it can be mixed in by our post-production team.
Consumers with hearing disabilities also deserve and should have access to audiovisual media. Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard-of-hearing (SDH) are a versatile solution. Not only do they benefit those with hearing disabilities, but they’re also useful for young people and foreigners learning Portuguese. In addition to spoken dialogue, SDH also includes descriptions of any audio that’s relevant to the plot. After all, the signature music of Jaws is just as important as any character!
We also need to take into account that the deaf and hard-of-hearing public is very diverse. One of the main factors involved is that a number of these consumers are not proficient in Portuguese, but only in Libras, the Brazilian sign language. This means that a considerable share of the target demographic won’t benefit from SDH and will need Libras interpretation.

In addition, with the assistance of our post-production team, we can handle the process of integrating Libras interpretation each step of the way, from pre-recording preparations to the post-production of your video.
