A LBM em cartaz: Janeiro

Mais um mês chega ao fim e nos reunimos para a nossa retrospectiva mensal. O mês de janeiro foi pouco movimentado em termos de estreias para a LBM, mas estamos a todo vapor com muitos projetos rolando. Uma notícia incrível que temos para nossos colegas e amig@s é que a LBM agora é uma empresa associada à ABRATES, a maior e mais importante associação de tradutores e intérpretes do Brasil. Olha o selo aí ao lado, chique não?

CAROL 

Na quinta-feira 14, começamos o ano MUITO bem com a estreia de “Carol”. Sublime, apenas. O filme, que recebeu muitas indicações ao Globo de Ouro e também indicações ao Oscar (Melhor Atriz e Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante para nossas musas Cate Blanchett e Rooney Mara respectivamente), continua em cartaz e é imperdível para 1) quem gosta de filmes incríveis; 2) quem participa de bolões do Oscar; e 3) quem gosta de ler legendas de primeira. Para quem lê em inglês, a crítica do The Telegraph é categórica: Cate Blanchett will slay you (leia na íntegra aqui). O filme tem uma fotografia maravilhosa e muito do seu charme está no não dito. A tradução correu tranquila, um daqueles filme gostosos de traduzir. Nosso diálogo preferido do filme foi quando Carol diz para Terese “My angel, flung out of space”, que em português ficou “Meu anjo, caído do céu”. <3

A Mares Filmes, distribuidora do filme, nos presenteou com o livro e o pôster. Nós adoramos! Olha só:

 

SUÍTE FRANCESA

Esse foi mesmo o mês de estreias lbmísticas em parceria com a Mares Filmes! Outra parceria nossa, “Suíte Francesa”, estreou na quinta-feira 28. O filme se passa na 2ª Guerra Mundial e conta a história de amor entre uma francesa e um soldado alemão da ocupação nazista. Como filme de época, foi importante manter o alerta para não usar termos anacrônicos na tradução. Parece bobagem, mas num descuido, um personagem da década de 40 aparece falando “Legal!”, e isso não seria nada legal! O filme por enquanto está restrito ao circuito cult em SP; você pode assistir no Cine Caixa Belas Artes e no Reserva Cultural (cheque sessões aqui). Outra estreia que estava programada para o dia 21, “Boa Noite, Mamãe!” (PlayArte Pictures) foi remarcada para 25 de fevereiro. Nessa mesma data, teremos as estreias também de “Little Boy – Além do Impossível” (Cinépolis Brasil) e “Deuses do Egito” (Paris Filmes), com Gerard Butler no papel de Set, o Deus do Deserto.
